Other than the 1-8 start, I'd say this is the lowest point of the season.
Scratch that... THIS is most definitely the lowest point of the season.

The eight game losing streak that put us at 9-25 was a third trough in the season.  Someone should do a poll asking which was the lowest of the three.

Please don't doesn't losing suck enough? Do we have to relive it in a poll?

Agreed 16 runs in 6 games at home doesn't cut it.  Fortunately they have some good coaches that will get them to break out of it on the road.  Even with the shellacking today they have given up just 30 runs in 6 games which is 5 runs a game not good but not horrible.
Lenny Harris has to get these guys to stop swinging at low pitches in the dirt.  That in itself would save them 3-6 outs a game.  Number 2 they have to start fouling off pitches with 2 strikes that are close to the strike zone instead taking third strikes.  Number 3 they have to get the head of the bat on the ball more often even if it means slowing down their swing at times.  Number 4 save the HR swing for pitches right down the middle.  Number 5 learn to recognize what a sinker ball looks like when it comes out of a pitchers hand not when it is in the dirt.
Number 6 keep Fick and Jimenez out of the line-up.

Wily Mo's homer makes me satisfied enough w/ this game. Didn't really anticipate winning too many of these. I actually thought we'd only win 1 on this homestand. We're just not ready for teams like this yet.

Totally false.. Before these series we were 4-6 against the Mets this year and 3-5 against the Phillies.  Just admit it, the entire team just totally laid an egg during this homestand.  If Manny is a real manager, he needs to light a fire under their ass and rip them after the game.  If he doesn't I'm sure the team will be more than content to keep playing effortless baseball on the road trip.

Those records vs these two teams actually tells me that I'm right. Oh...and the fact that I was right.

7-11 (our record against the Phils/Mets prior to this week) isn't great but at least it is respectable.  1-5 is downright inexcusable.

They're just better right now, that's all. Get over it.

I went to the Nats game today (first once since the inaugaral season) and it was pretty nice. Perfect baseball until the 8th inning of course where Jon Rauch choked.

BTW: Someone strap Austin Kearns to a chair and make him listen to some hip hop for 24 hours straight. His walkup music is trash.

Yeah, every at bat got even worse with banjo playin crap.

That was nice to see Wily Mo Pena hit a homer in his second game as a Nat, BTW. Too bad our bullpen is trash.

Well, he's a Kentucky boy. No surprise there. Wish it worked better for him, though.

Agreed on Wily Mo.
