The LH matchups don't mean jack crap, Bob. Didn't we see Gonzalez give up back to back hits to these same two hitters last time up?

Davey has forgotten more about baseball than any of us will ever know, but he is not above question.  His 7th inning manuevers were curious to say the least starting with removing our most dominant pitcher after on 89 pitches.

Zimmermann has never pitched more than 161 innings, and if we make it to October we'll need him to be effective.  Using the pen to make starters outings low stress makes sense for the whole season.

Most critics of Davey, and yes I'm including you and SF in that category, tend to focus on the situation at hand as opposed to the full season / 25 man roster big picture.  Davey is clearly focused on the big picture and makes decisions accordingly.

LaRoche taken out for defense? :hang: :spaz: We could need him to make a pick out of the dirt with these bad conditions. But DeRosa is there :?

He's very big picture yet the type of overmanaging he's been doing tonight really screws over the team in extra innings at times.

Not saying I dislike him as a manager, but I wish he wouldn't burn through the bullpen so quickly sometimes.

The problem is that if you don't focus enough on the game to game, then your big picture ends after game 162.

Bad pitch location, the outside edge was working great for him.
