0-4 last night and 0-2 so far tonight. Made decent contact in his second at bat.

No hits through four for the Senators so far tonight and they didn’t do much last night.
So 0-3 tonight with a walk.  Going through a natural adjustment period.

Hitting .154 so far with .564 OPS. Might want to pause penciling him into CF for next season.

he's also drawing more walks and striking out less than in A ball. Probably the better umps. I think the BABIP of .143 won't last.

College teams don’t travel like this.

He’s been home in Harrisburg for all six games. They only travel once a week now. They go to Binghamton tomorrow for six games. Minor league travel is not what it used to be. More games of course then college.

Damn man. Very happy to see that it was a relatively soft off speed pitch.

Looks like he could use some ducking instruction.   I mean, don't just turn your head, get it out of the way!    :bang:

We can hear the "wack" as the pitch hits his helmet. Does not sound soft.

3. Dylan Crews, OF, Nationals (Double A)

Age: 21
Bats: R Throws: R
Height: 6-0 Weight: 205
Scouting grades: HIT: 65 PWR: 60 RUN: 60 ARM: 55 FLD: 55

Dylan Crews is a true five-tool prospect and was the best hitter drafted in 2023, with plus-plus power. He’s also an above-average defender in center field with a plus arm. At the plate, Crews has a quick, short stroke with which he makes consistent and loud sweet-spot contact. His exit velocity is elite. He can hit high velocity in all areas of the strike zone and can handle breaking balls and off-speed offerings. Crews, the second pick in this year’s draft behind his LSU teammate Skenes, profiles as a perennial All-Star and future MVP-caliber player. There is nothing he can’t do on a baseball field.

Looking at the video, I can't help but notice Crews' legs are absolute tree trunks. Reminds me of Spencer Strider.

Buddy is a tank honestly. It’s how he generates those elite EVs while not being some gargantuan.

Quick Crews health update:

“After sleeping on it, I feel good today. They’re giving me the day today just to be cautious and just to get another day of rest. I’ll be ready for tomorrow.”

Good. No reason to push him when he has just been hit in the head, helmet or not, and fastball or brisk curveball.

A bit unlucky, his BB and K rates are still good with a low BABIP.  The org might have him start in Harrisburg instead of Rochester next year if he doesn't have a breakout game to up his stats, but he's still on course to be in MLB by the middle of next season.  Also good because we'll have him through his 28 yo season.

Starts at Harrisburg next season, but should be able to move quickly to Rochester.
