The WBC has a mercy rule. Why can't there be one in the regular season?

GO KILL YOURSELF, TIM TOLMAN! Why in the freak would you send the slow running catcher there with 1 out? That just ruined any chance of a comeback. Momentum killer.

That was nice of the Rockies to let us have a couple of runs.

Yeah, They should have held up Flores there. He wouldn't have scored either way, with what we had coming up. How in the hell is Casto still playing in the majors? He is a career minor leaguer...nothing more.

Good to see Shell getting some extra work.  I don't know why they never usually let him go two.

These motherfreakers are the sorriest team I have ever seen. They should've scored 10 runs of Hernandez and even though they blew opportunities they still got six and got blown out because our pitching was woeful tonight. I don't see how people can seriously blame Acta for the sorry excuse of a team we have. If Zimmerman is really our best player then we're in a lot of trouble.

Definitely. I never imagined even the worst team in baseball could be this BAD. I just can't believe how completely and thoroughly awful this team is. Every facet of the team is severely lacking. I don't see how they'll be that much better next year too.

This team is just completely overmatched. Any time they win it is a fluke.

This is the 3rd time this season we've had a 9 game losing streak.

It's the end of the game, and there are not even a full two pages on this game. Wow.

That's 27 losses right there. If we ever hope to be competitive you have to avoid all of these ridiculously long losing streaks. It's unbelievable how many different ways they find to lose every night. We have had no big winning streaks this season either to make up for the big losing skids.

Pretty sad that the best game of the season was the first one and the team hasn't been worth watching since game 3.

That's a month's worth of losses and it represents 1/3 of the season's losses to date. Of course the year isn't over yet so they'll only sink lower and lower. I see no end in sight of what's going on now.

The only positive is that we are pulling away from the competition for the #1 pick. Strasburg will be worth all these losses. Just hope the Lerners pay up.

I have no doubt that if Strasburg lives up to his end of the deal next season and we draft him, we will sign him quickly and have him on the team by this time next season to give him a short taste before the 2010 season.

I hope so but if he has another good year you can expect he'll ask for near $10 Million.

Dreadful game. I'm glad the offense had a little life but it is painful to watch sometime.

The team earned their clown tonight but I'm picking an attractive one because I'd had enough of the clown car that is Washington Nationals for one night.

I think the guy behind us in section 314 summed it up nicely:

"It's just like watching the Tides!!"
