If for no other reason, we owed Clippard another start for forcing him to wear that stupid green hat in his Nats debut.

He needs playing time to get back into game shape.  It's going to be painful for a couple of weeks.

Alaniz should give all of us cause for optimism.

Wow I was hoping for something like that to happen.  Any chance that he could be fast tracked to the majors ala John Lannan?

And Dmitri's playing first when we have an opportunity to make him our DH. That makes no sense to me.

Always a chance, but doubtful, IMO.

The other option is to go with Boone and Young DH. In that scenario Pena does not play and I don't think Acta likes that. Of course Boone has been bad lately too.

Or Casto to third, Belliard to first, and WMP to left.

We should probably let him make his way slowly and not rush him. 2010 sounds good.

I think Boone injured his neck or something, read that on nationals.com (think he's day to day)

Mock rebounded nicely tonight in Columbus and picked up the win. 7.2 IP 7 H 4 R 3 ER 1 BB 7 K (91 pitches, 64 strikes)

That's one of the longest outings of the season for a Nats minor leaguer.

Or Belliard to 2nd, Young at 1st, Casto at 3rd and WMP in left.

Damn that works too. But maybe Casto isn't ready to play the field.
