no winning team would have henry rodriguez on their roster so, by definition, if he's on your roster, you are a losing team.

think about that, Rizzo!

Corey Brown is improving.

Clearly we have been eating our Wheaties. We'll be a winning team in no time.

I guess I was just imagining this:

The Nationals completed a sweep of the Seattle Mariners on Thursday afternoon, winning 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth on Laynce Nix’s(notes)  sacrifice fly. They have won 11 of 12 and have moved above .500 this late in the season for the first time since 2005.

Corey Brown is improving.

He's at .231/.320/.404/.723 right now, which is turdible.  Where was he before?

Well that about ends my .500 hopes for good.

75 wins?

Don't. Don't be like SF or PC. Two or three years from now we're gonnna be n the hunt for the pennant. Don't be that guy that was a hater and whiner during the not so great times.

You realize that's been the line we've been hearing since 2007...

Haha, I'm just saying for this season. We'd have to be really good to hit .500 again. 75-87 wouldn't be the end of the world.. quite acceptable for this club, I guess.

Yes. He seems like an archeological find from the first half of the season...Cora, Hairston, Stairs...
Hairston was actually a pretty decent player to have it turned out.

Well that series didn't go well.  Florida was ppd and the Mutts were off so we lost a half game in the NL East standings.  Hopefully we can at least take 2/3 from the Reds, starting with tonight and CMW going up against the D-Train (Is this 2007?).  If we get any of these games in, that is.

In 2007 we didn't have Strasburg, Rendon, Harper, etc. There's no comparison.

Not sure if serious but you do realize that half a season doesn't equal a winning team, right?

I had a ridiculous dream that Jerry Hairston was traded back to the Nats and he had somehow grown dreadlocks and the crowd went apecrap when he was introduced.

Sure, doesn't make my statement any less true though.

This levels my all-time GDT record at 1-1 (Nats won on the only GDT I started last year - http://www.wnff.net/index.php?topic=18016.0)...so much for any talismanic properties I might have.
