Go Leafs.  They’ve come back to lead the Flightless Birds 2-1.

F*** the Leafs.  Letting Pittsburgh tie it up.  At least they kept them to one point.

Another game where the Caps are outplayed and steal a win.  Maybe they can sneak in.

Moneypuck has them at 42 percent.  About equal with Pittsburgh for the wild card.  Looks like NYI will get third place. And probably a first round matchup with the Canes.

https://moneypuck.com/predictions.htm

Hoping for the Flyers to lose the last three which seems like a sure thing the way they have been playing.  After surviving a rough stretch against the better teams they have pooped the bed against the bottom feeders. Last game is against the Caps.

They should have disallowed that so he could get the shutout. Seemed unfair.

As soon as they failed to clear the zone, I said..."that's it...Buffalo scores here"...and BOOM!

Edit:  4-2 final and another loss...and they decide to end the game with a donnybrook...

Blech...

I actually hate the Sabres more than any of the other "traditional" Caps rivals.  Between the massing of the Genesee Diaspora here and the brutal losses there, they cause much more misery than either of the other NY teams (or even the PA teams).  I hope that blighted rust belt dump is buried under 200 feet of lake effect snow and is never heard from again  :dagger: :dagger:

Walked out of the arena with his family.  Great news.

Here’s what Moneypuck says.  They give Caps the best chance for fve wild card. M

https://moneypuck.com/predictions.htm

I think Detroit has the best chance because they have two games with Montreal.  Pittsburgh schedule seems tough with two playoff teams but neither of those teams has anything to play for at this point. Who know really.

Probably because the Caps own the tiebreaker with the Wings...

I agree with you...the Wings getting the two points vs Toronto yesterday swung the tide for me based upon the remaining schedule...

Regardless...whomever it is, they are going out in the first round vs the Rangers.

The Isles seem to have the best chance for an upset if they face the 'Canes in the first round...so would the Caps, really...

I think it would be a huge morale boost for the '24-'25 season if the Caps make it in...especially after last year...but I'm not holdin' my breath...

Moneypuck changed their odds this morning even though none of the four teams played.  They must have read our analyses.

That seems to make more sense given the remaining strength of schedule...maybe the smart money loaded up on the Wings yesterday...

I believe that if the Wings win tonight Flyers are in with a regulation win tomorrow.  No matter what the Caps do tonight.  As they have the tiebreaker. Of course I could be wrong as I don’t have an advanced math degree.

Detroit has two games left...I think you mean if Detroit loses one of those and Philly wins tomorrow...then, yes...
