I was at a game there years ago and the fans were great then too.  It would be nice if DC fans are as gracious when the Braves come to town.  It could become a rivalry like Boston-NY

By the taunting, insults, and smugness (all ATL's fault), I'd say it already is.

Sure, but I did not know you were married to Drew Brees.

Those seagulls are great  :D

They were wild. The instant the game was over they started swarming the stands to feast on the leftover food. A little creepy, given that Bodega Bay is just up the coast a ways.

I am hoping for a repeat performance tonight :)  Thanks for the heads up about the food and beer - I figured it would be expensive just like everything else in the bay area. For people who complain about Metro fares, a BART ride from the airport to downtown is $8.65! Going to the end of the line is almost $12 (compared to Metro's $5.75 max fare). Yikes.

Have a wonderful time tonight. If we didn't have an early flight tomorrow we might have gone tonight too.   Giants fans we spoke to really went out of their way to be welcoming and non-threatening.   I think after what happened to one of their own at Dodger Stadium, they don't want any out of town fan to feel unwelcome. One fellow said he was thinking of coming to Nats Park in August to see the Giants and asked if he'd be safe wearing Giants gear. I said he'd be fine and the only fans we dislike are Phillies fans. His response?  "We'll, of course!  Who doesn't?"

...   and 39,954 of those "fans" were gone by the 7th inning.     :mg:

Yes, the Nats fan to Giants fan ratio did improve markedly in the late innings.

I think I posted on the ballparks thread in the Out of Town Scoreboard section, but I AT&T Park is now at the top of my list of favorites. PNC Park has the picturesque skyline and the intimate feel, but I just liked the atmosphere of AT&T. Even with 40,000+ people, there were no lines for restrooms or concessions at any point. The play area and food court in centerfield were a nice touch, and the views were spectacular. I also like how they didn't have the excessive music blaring over the PA system and the stupid prompts for cheering that they do Nats Park (and other places too).

Going to Miami series 7/28-30.  Anyone been to marlins park yet?  Trying to figure out if there are decent hotels within walking distance of park

NATS ADDICT may be able to answer that question.

Ask #NatHeat or #lebronwhy or whatever his username is.

I wish I could make more out of town games.

Not too familiar with the area, but I know the stadium is in a part of town in which I would not recommend spending too much time, which ironically goes against the very nature of the stadium, as the stadium itself is state-of-the-art.

I'm going to the game on 29th. Should be a good one. I'm a converted Florida Marlins fan. I've been to about 5 games at this park since it opened, and they've lost every one (awesome since they made me a Nats fan by switching to the MIAMI marlins). So I'm expecting a win on the 29th. Anybody else going to this series?

I went to a nats marlins game at Sun Life a few years ago.  Excited to see the new stadium.  Don't really give a crap about the surrounding neighborhood.  Will be in attendance 7/29 and 7/30

Yeah I don't blame you. Just be aware of your surroundings before you enter the stadium. And if you decide to park in the parking garage, expect traffic to be a little rough after the game.

We shouldn't play in Boston next year.  We played in Boston in 2012.

There are only three divisions in the AL.
