I'm talking more about the pitchers than about anything else and yes, I do.  The pitchers haven't backed down from any one.  I dont' expect them to today.  De La Rosa hasn't exactly lit the world on fire today either.  We've done pretty well on get-away day and it's baseball.  I'm not writing off any game before it starts.
No one is writing the game off. just being realisitic. We lose 70% of the games anyways and when Detwiler starts we lose 89% of the time.

De La Rosa stinks but he is a lefty and throws 95. just the type of pitcher to own this team.

sf, Ross never pitched in AAA ball this year.  He's never been there ever actually.

And we didn't battle last night, we had the lead and made bonehead play after bonehead play and didn't fight enough.  It's okay b/c Manny said everything is fine and everyone gets to keep their jobs.

Surprisingly, our offense's best inning this season has been the 6th.

Hey Chief, if someone bets against the Nats and loses, can they have the siren and "Not a Nats fan" tag as their avatar? :stir:

Not if they lose to me. But I see most of the doom is talk. No real believers around here.

I'm sorry, but these posts come across to me as fans who are writing the game off.

We're going to get our asses kicked today.

Coors is where pitchers like Ross get destroyed.

10-3 Rockies.
We should have won the first two games but the game today is a game we should lose soundly.

De La Rosa throws hard and has above average stuff but he walks a lot of batters and gives up plenty of runs.

Too bad we have by far the worst record in baseball against LH starters (6-16).
Ross Detwiler is going to be destroyed today;. This is the perfect storm that will force Detwiler to go 2 innings 8 earned runs.
I can't give him a chance to win because don't forget, we are the Nats and we rarely win. Though, today is getaway day and the Nats play like a playoff contender on those days.
Monday and Tuesday's games were actually winnable. Today is a complete mismatch.

Put your avatar where your mouth is, I'll take the Nats. Any takers?

I'll take your bet. In fact, I'll give you 1.5 runs.

that's a good bet. no way the Nats lose by exactly 1 run in 3 straight games.

Morgan - 8
Gonzalez - 6
Zimmerman - 5
Dunn - 3
Willingham - 7
Kearns - 9
Hernandez - 4
Nieves - 2
Detwiler - 1

Sorry. Can't take that deal, spider. AlGo, Hernandez, and Nieves are in the lineup so we have at least a slim chance.

See, if you understood baseball, you know that Willie is banged up, NJ needs an offday, and so Dunn is at first. Our outfield defense will be great.

He doesn't know a damn thing about baseball. All he knows is about that if you separate the word baseball you get "base" and "ball" which reminds him of a region of Dukes' anatomy.

nieves is kearnsesque bad.  and hernandez has no hand/eye coordination.  neither should be on the team next season.

Even though I dislike him very much and he had that embarrassment of a play last night on the base paths, I've got this gut feeling that Kearns is going to have a good day (field/plate).  Then again, maybe that is just the chinese food I ate for lunch acting up in my stomach....

its the food.  the guy sucks and is not a major leauge ballplayer.

this is why i hate the nats.  takes 2 years to dump hanrahan.  it's like 3 years now on kearns.  we're going to keep nieves/hernandez around for way too long.  enough with these AAAA players.

doesn't change the fact that Kearns starting on a major league ball club makes me LOL. he is THE worst player in all of baseball.
