He's at 113 plate appearances in Double A and is hitting .221/.321/.327. Its laughable that Crews is going to magically turn it around in a few weeks.
Hassell is closer to being promoted than Crews is.
you know that 70 PAs at the end of a long season is almost irrelevant in looking at Crews. The 41 more recently is a small sample but really should not be lumped in with that. If he ends up with a decent 1/3 of a season at AA, coming from the SEC, with his pedigree, then he's ready for AAA if he is without an obvious flaw (poor contact when he swings, bad swing decisions, vulnerability to hard stuff or breaking balls).
As for Hassell, his OBP and running are giving me more hope that he could be due for a bump up. Again, June or maybe late May is not unrealistic. it's not like AAA is overflowing with outfielders we have hope for.
