If/when Wood is recalled here soon, does Crews essentially replace him in AAA and become sort of “next up” for a promotion this Summer?

Wonder when those like the Monumental betting empire will offer that as an option

Binghamton had problem with Crews. PT-73 and McHale, for example.

Crews being promoted to AAA this Summer makes you laugh out loud?  Weird take.

Him hitting .244 in Double A and sitting out over a week after getting HBP makes a promition to Triple A in a couple months a laughable thought

He’s had 41 at bats.  He has a couple big games and he’s hitting .300 plus.  There’s no guarantee he’s promoted by the end of June to AAA, but to call it “laughable” is beyond ridiculous.

Dylan Crews has been out of Harrisburg's lineup for a week now. Per a Nats official, it's a hamstring issue and they're being extra cautious with him. Was told he ran yesterday and "looked good" according to someone who saw him.

heck, he comes back to play over this weekend, I'll still say he's promoted closer to end of May than end of June. Mid-June is realistic. Gives him a couple of months in AAA before a call up second half of August.

He's at 113 plate appearances in Double A and is hitting .221/.321/.327. Its laughable that Crews is going to magically turn it around in a few weeks.

Hassell is closer to being promoted than Crews is.

Crews has been out of the Double-A Harrisburg lineup since April 17 due to a hamstring issue and remains out of the lineup Thursday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

So we went from a dinged wrist to pulling his hammy

you know that 70 PAs at the end of a long season is almost irrelevant in looking at Crews. The 41 more recently is a small sample but really should not be lumped in with that. If he ends up with a decent 1/3 of a season at AA, coming from the SEC, with his pedigree, then he's ready for AAA if he is without an obvious flaw (poor contact when he swings, bad swing decisions, vulnerability to hard stuff or breaking balls).

As for Hassell, his OBP and running are giving me more hope that he could be due for a bump up. Again, June or maybe late May is not unrealistic. it's not like AAA is overflowing with outfielders we have hope for.

I fail to see how its "irrelevant" especially considering the 41 from this season mirror.

He is simply overmatched by Double A and will likely need significant time to develop the appropriate skill levels. Like Wood, he needs to stay, and thrive, at his current for a substantial amount of time before being promoted.

The SEC is basically high A ball. The best pitchers Crews faced are currently in A ball. His struggles with breaking stuff were well documented. The idea that he's going to be ready for Triple A in a month is pretty laughable. He isnt Bryce Harper or Mike Trout. He's just a guy and he's going to take a while to get to the big leagues.

Weird how "the SEC is basically high A ball" and there's a kid at Indianapolis, who went straight from the SEC to AAA, who in 5 starts has a 0.53 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP with 34 Ks in 17 IP
