Gio is overrated too. Some ace. Up 6-0 and he can't find the strike zone.
He's not an ace. 11 walks in two playoff starts. Wild pitches, walks, etc when we had a 6-0 lead.

No they won't.  This is the kind of loss that ruins a team.

Capitals vs Montreal....

Hopefully, there are a few different faces on the pitching staff next year.

Yea, I totally hope we get rid of all the pitchers who helped us finish in the top 5 in ERA this season. Let's clean house!!

Better at bats. They don't waste as many at bats as we do chasing pitches and trying to blast homers all the time....

I thought their approach was poor and predictable. They chased tons of pitches against Gio even when he was struggling. Throw quality strikes that you want them to hit.

Our pitchers pitched scared, period.

Screw Bud Selig - the 2nd wild card is craptastic

Because the Braves would be better?

Gio ain't crap.  freak him and his inability to throw strikes.  Everything he did during the season is negated because of this.

This season doesn't mean crap.  We failed.

Capitals vs Montreal....

Please, come on. How is this comparable? This was losing the clinching game in excruciating fashion, not a total team breakdown over the course of 3 games that led to a loss of team identity. I don't see that happening with this team.

well that sucked.  I don't know what to say, just a devastating loss.

Time to step away from baseball for a bit and regroup.

Sigh......

Doesn't ruin the team.  Might ruin storen as a closer.

Great season.  Lousy end.  The pitching that carried us for most of the season betrayed us in the end.  Throw strikes - win.  Don't throw strikes - lose.  Pretty simple.

I also won't be watching (much) of the rest of the 2012 season.  How many days until pitchers and catchers report?

This is all I'm worried about. Interesting to see how he rebounds next year.
