The Clubhouse / Re: Ted still wants to buy the Nats

Seems like they didn't stop after the Short years... They kept allowing shady/horrible owners to buy teams in the 90's & 2000's.

If there had been competent ownership in Montreal they would of never left. This from Society For American Baseball Research (SABR):

" Shifting ownership doomed the franchise, regardless of whether the owner was Charles Bronfman (1968-91) with his family fortune, Claude Brochu (1991-99) with his executive experience, or Jeffrey Loria (1999-2002) with his flair, or even Major League Baseball itself (2002-04) with its dictate to play about one-fourth of each season’s “home” games in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for two years."

I think especially Loria had no business owning the team.

So if they're going to trade useful guys like Harvey and Finnegan who are they looking to get in return? I would assume they want to see what they have in House before trading for a third baseman. They don't have a need at short and probably wouldn't get somebody to replace Garcia with one of the two relievers. Eventually I would think they want to put Morales at first. They don't need any outfield prospects until they find out about the ones they have. Probably not a catcher or a top starter.

So if you're going to trade those guys I would think you'd be getting a lower level prospect that would be placed in Fredericksburg. Now it's 2025, your prospects are prospering but wait, your relievers can't hold a lead.

BTW, A Baltimore radio station was talking about where they could trade for a reliable closer and they said no doubt Harvey and Finnegan will be traded at the deadline.

Always amazing that he lived so much longer than his brothers.  Pet Sounds was 1966.  It still had a couple hits.

And now it's considered one of the greatest albums every made.

Carl died of lung cancer, Dennis fell off a boat when drunk and drowned. In Long Promised Road Brian still had a lot of difficulty talking about the death of Carl.

It's incredible that Brian has made it into his 80's given health and drug issues.
