Proximity to the mighty Anacostia may cause inflammation

Davey says Young is available to pinch hit or run today

Gray had no issues with today's bullpen and will throw another tuesday or wednesday

hope Garcia's right hand is OK after a day's rest. I imagine they'll image it.

Gallo had 2 decent games in a row on 5/9 and 5/11. 8 ABs, 1 2B, 2 HR, 1BB, 1K. 0-1 his 2d game today with a K. Issue will be forced soon.

Winker out with a sore back / back spasms. Could open the door for Gallo’s return.

scrue dat gimme Wood

I think Rosario's hot streak should keep him in the OF every day along with Young. I could see a Gallo getting OF time rather than going back to splitting DH and 1B with Meneses.

Golden with some updates:
- Cade Cavalli is scheduled to pitch in a sim game Tues.
- Josiah Gray feels good and wants to ramp up his next bullpen.
- Joey Gallo will play 1B the next 2 days in Rochester.
- Lane Thomas will hopefully start running the bases in the coming days.

I don't understand the enthusiasm for Thomas' return as the second coming. He was not good this season as his BA was below .200 before he got hurt and was duplicating his September BA of 2023. As I have repeated "ad nauseum" his average in July , August  last year was .242. Yes he hits HR's but is he the  RH version of Schwarber? Is that enough to carry him on the roster next year or is he destined to be a 4th OF?

Call him up, cut Meneses, move Rosario to DH.

This team lacks any righty power. Thomas got off to a rotten start, but he can't have any less power than Meneses, Young, righty Vargas, righty Ruiz, and all but one week of Senzel..240 with pop a d steals would be a big upgrade

Lane Thomas starting in Harrisburg tomorrow per Zuck. Plan is for him to play Tuesday and Wednesday and then make a decision.

Saw Lane Thomas in Harrisburg last night. He came to the plate 3 times, drawing one walk, hitting a line drive to shallow right which was caught, and finally, hitting a solid double. I didn’t see any sign of him favoring the knee, and he looked fine running at full speed to get the double. He also looked to have no trouble fielding.

We may be seeing him back on the Nats soon.

The consensus on the site is tomorrow and replacing Robles.

Which makes sense, and means that they'll send Young down...

If the team finally dumps Robles, that is all the more reason to keep Young. By tomorrow, the OF could be Thomas, Young, and either Rosario or Winker in LF. That's not bad.

bunch of righties this series. I could see them giving Thomas a few more ABs in AAA and keeping Robles around until Monday since he'll just be backing up Rosario and Winker in the OF. Keep the standard lineup against righties with Meneses DH and Gallo 1st base. Not that it has had much success, but Thomas isn't going to touch Kirby / Gilbert / Woo.
