Just noticed this morning that Eury Perez has not played since the 18th and is on the 7 day DL.  I couldn't find anything on the reason why.

Wow, good story by Kerr on T-Moore.  Had a tumor removed over the winter.

Quote
Early in the winter, Moore underwent an x-ray on his right leg to try to pinpoint the problem. The x-ray revealed a bone tumor in his femur. During surgery, a golf ball-sized tumor was removed from his right thigh. The tumor was found to be benign. Moore went through seven weeks of rehabbing, but was not able to lift weights. He arrived at spring training healthy and ready to go, thankful to be playing baseball again.

Ah, so he lost some leg strength and is getting back into form as he plays.

Yeah, not sure how he could be full strength at ST when he had to take seven weeks off in the offseason without lifting weights.

To me, that means he'd just be getting his strength back now.

whoever thought we would be talking about the depth of pitching in this organization?

Now maybe it's time to move someone for a legit lead-off / CF?

I listened to Kerr's post-game show tonight, far far better than Phil Wood.

Has anybody noticed how absolutely pathetic the hitting is throughout the organization...

Nationals   .226 team batting, 29th out of 30 teams

Syracuse   .216 team batting, dead last out of 14 teams

Harrisburg  .226 team batting, only .004 from last place

Sure wonder how this will play out and if/what trades may be made with some of our surplus pitching at the higher levels??

Kevin Goldstein, BP

Quote
Tyler Moore, 1B, Nationals (Double-A Harrisburg): 2-for-4, 2 HR (3), 2 R, 3 RBI, K. Arguably the hottest hitter in the minors during the second half of 2010 but struggling at Double-A; .260/.269/.455 in 19 games, as approach has unraveled.

That's unraveled?   Well, he clearly doesn't walk but I wouldn't call a .260 BA, unravelling.

That's most of the problem.   Last year he had 40 walks, this year so far, 1.

I would call his approach unraveling, but I wouldnt say that he as a hitter is unraveling.  Idk how this happens, because whether or not he has lost his swing or something he should still be able to continue to draw walks.  this is puzzling

That's what Goldstein said, that his approach is unraveling.

as mentioned (by jmu) and now byron kerr ... bloxom to A+/Potomac and Stephen King has been bumped up to AA/Harrisburg.

Good luck to both.  King has been playing well the last 10 games.  I believe he has like 9-10 hits in his last 4 games.

i'm kinda excited about king.  his numbers in potomac were average, but as i said, recently he had been swinging a hot stick and playing good defense.

kerr says the FO is still high on him.
