Contrary to what you might hear on the TV news - this is not ending earlier than we expected. We continue to expect 5-10 inches N & W and 4-8" most other places before this wraps up between 8 and 11 from southwest to northeast. Some areas N &W are already at or over 5" mark. Western Fairfax and Loudoun counties are really getting hammered. Radar shows the precipitation field starting to pivot with the snow wrapping around from the north as the offshore coastal low intensifies due to the interaction with the vigorous upper level disturbance (responsible for the thunder snow). This will keep the snow going for a while.
