If you look at their 2022 roster a few that jump out include Robinson Chirinos at catcher (ahead of Rutschman), Chris Owings at 2B, Rougned Odor on the bench, and Jordan Lyles in the rotation. They claimed Voth off waivers from us in June that year.
New GM Adam Peters landed a game-wrecker for the middle of his defense. He got the best slot corner in this class. And he got my second-ranked tight end, a player who could make plays in the pass game and block his butt off in the run game. This is a home run Round 2 class for the Commanders, which entered this draft with a lot of holes.

8 of their 9 starters tonight were completely homegrown, never part of another org. One thing they don’t do that the Nats shouldn’t either is bring in has beens and Rule 5s to round out the roster. It only delays development of internal guys and doesn’t make the team any better.
