Are they still airing this in Europe?

Yep, just started airing it in England this season in fact, to much publicity! The creator, Mitch Hurwitz, even wrote a newspaper piece called "How to Get a Sitcom Cancelled in America":

Welch, you are wrong about '67.  The 4 way photo finish was Boston, Detroit, Minnesota, and Chicago. Baltimore was 6th, 15.5 games back, tied with the Senators.

You may be thinking of 1977. 97 win O team that finished tied for 2d.  1978 they were 4th with 90 wins.

It's not a splitter, at all.

Who is your closer and what does he do?

We call this game: "Police. Baseball."

From the AP report for this game:

Quote
[Marquis] helped stake himself to a 6-0 lead after one inning. The Nationals scored six off Javier Vazquez (2-4), and then hung on to win.

How was that "hanging on"?  The game was never closer than three runs and they won by four.  The tying run was at-bat once, in the 7th and that's as close as they ever got...to tying the game.  That's hardly "hanging on".  :?

Now, the Marlins "hung on"...by the skin of their teeth... to win the previous game but someone "hung on" didn't make the AP report for that game.

lol ... haters gonna hate

I thought Marquis was pretty good, but with the large lead you could definitely see a change in his approach from the 1st inning to the 2nd.  But again he was solid.
