The umpire really screwed Stammen that at-bat.

We'll be lucky to split the series.

Anybody want lotto numbers?

Pitiful mother freakers. Score 10 runs and lose. Stammen has completely reverted to past form.

They're 18-22 and two are against us.   We only play there 4 freakin' times all year.

Um, winning 12-5 and 11-5 in 2 games, and the Nats were lucky to get a split?

Replace Ankiel with Corey Brown. Tiresome.

Giving up 5 runs is a formula for losing, so yes.  Also if you notice the timestamp on that prediction, I made it before the series.  Just had a feeling.

Well at least this loss won't get brought up in the Worst Offensive Performance thread.

Should have swept the series. But they settle for two. There will come a time where the Nats will regret all of these terrible losses. Some of the NL East teams are bound to get hot and soon.

And thus the Worst Pitching Performance of All Time was born.

Coors Field is the worst ballpark in baseball.  Awful environment for good baseball.

The pitching was exceptionally bad in this game, though.

I wonder if Davey just wanted to get out of there- expecting stammen to go three when he's struggling doesn't seem like a good idea

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Tuesday 28th June 2005 the Nats opened a 3-match series with the Pirates with a 2-1 win, Drese outduelling Fogg and Wil Cordero picking up his first RBI of the season, and Cordero saving his 23rd straight...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250628120...record now 45-31.

Not at Coors - you really have to see a game there to understand - they have great fans and a physical environment not conducive to baseball, period.

How's that?  Other than the obvious (altitude, etc).

Its the obvious.  You need to be there to fully appreciate popups turning into homers. Also it is dry as hell. I need my Dc swamp air.
