I pick the good ones!

Interesting.  All my Mets friends were happy about Church's bat/Schneider's glove but were sad to see Milledge go.  The whole controversy over his first career home run was overblown by the NY media.  Fans loved it.

There's no way Flores could have seen that play at third with the bases loaded.

Yeah it looked that way, after viewing the replays several time.

But usually players are yelling 'tag' when that happens so he choked on that play.

Apparently no one did.

Collin said he had no idea that Zim had tagged third.

having the awareness to tag third on that play was amazing. i believe Zimmerman is truly the best defensive player in baseball.

Just got home from the match...haven't read this full thread, but would the outcome have been different if Torre had pinch-hit for the pitcher in the sixth?

Doubt it. Estrada was lights out. Lowe also gave the Dodgers 2 more scoreless innings.

It's possible. Good question though.

How does tagging 3B on that play demonstrate amazing awareness? Getting to the ball and then throwing a bullet home was nice but tagging 3B and then throwing home was the naturla thing to do. I guess it's easy to spot the people who have never played ball or, if they did play, who weren't very good.

the whole process displayed amazing awareness. some 3b would've immediately thought to throw home, and neglect to touch third.
