Quote
After missing most of the 2022 season due to injuries, Dugas came back in a big way to help lead LSU to its seventh national championship. As LSU’s starting second baseman for the 2023 season, Dugas batted .290 from the plate with 12 doubles, two triples, 17 home runs and 53 RBIs. Dugas had a .464 on-base percentage, which was the second-highest on the team. This was partly due to Dugas getting hit-by-pitch 33 times, which was a team-high.

During the College World Series, Dugas started all eight games and had a .308 batting average (8-for-26) with two doubles, two home runs, four RBIs and four runs scored.

During his five seasons at LSU, Dugas had made an appearance in 201 games with 178 starts with a career batting average of .287 with 35 doubles, five triples, 44 home runs, 148 RBI, and 161 runs scored. Dugas has the LSU record for hit-by-pitch at 68.

Dugas was selected to wear the highly coveted No. 8 jersey for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. The jersey number is awarded each season to the upperclassman who best exemplifies the spirit of the LSU baseball program.

"The other guy" from LSU is currently at Fredricksburg where he has posted an insane .432 / .543 / .622 / 1.165 in 37 ABs to open the season. No HRs, 2SBs

the HBP thing continues in pro ball. It's a big chunk of his OBP. Last year, he was hit 9 times in 66 PAs. This year, he's been hit 2 times in 46 PAs. Last  year, he had 16 walks plus HBP vs 18 Ks. This year, the walks have stayed up (7) while the Ks are < 20% of his PAs (9).

But the .405 average and .571 slugging is nice

Thanks for gathering all these April stats, Noble!

It seems that Dugas needs to go to Wilmington. The Blue Rocks currently have Kevin Made, Marcus Brown, and Philip Glasser at middle infield, but it seems time for Made to be promoted to Harrisburg, and to release Jordy Barley.

I went to Claymont Steak shop on my last trip up that way. Wife and I split a cheesesteak.  They use American cheese I think. I could excuse that but seemed dry.  Maybe caught them on a bad day. Last time I went Pats the sandwich was dry also.  Maybe I’m just getting finicky.

Probably used sirloin. Lot of places cheap out, thinking some butter and cheese will cover it up. Only way you can get away with it is if you cook the steak in lard.

Claymont Steak Shop has been my favorite, at least after the Arden Sub Shop closed. (Arden is a little town right beside Claymont)

I once did a taste test with a friend. She was a Philly native and liked Geno’s and I went to Pats diagonally across the street. We then cut the sandwiches in half and divided them between us. Bottom line was we liked Pats the best. Though I have heard that there is another shop that is preferred by more Philly natives (Johnnys ?).

John’s Roast Pork may  be the one you are referring to.  Cheesesteaks and roast pork sandwiches. I used to be partial to Jim’s Steaks.  Fourth and South I believe. Been about ten years since I’ve been there. Dallasandros (sp?) is another I always see mentioned in the ratings. Think they have a few shops.

Pat’s and Geno’s are more for the authentic experience rather than the food.  Taste best drunk at 3:00 am.

You can stay up until 3:00 AM? Maybe it was Jim's that I was thinking about instead of Johnny's. Is Johnny's in a market with other food stalls?

I think so.

Three AM was forty years ago. Maybe 45.
