There should he a bidding war for Bell. He is raking. He is absolutely on fire from the left side of the plate. Playoff pool is deeper this year. Houston, Boston, Milwaukee, Minnesota, and Cleveland are all getting jack crap from first base.

I forgot, is Bell a FA at year's end?

If he doesn’t have a hard slump, I think the return will be too much to instead hold onto him hoping for an extension in the offseason.

He's a Boras client. There was never hope for an extension

Starting to think we should trade bell (might even be worth a back end top 100 prospect guy or multiple back end top 10s in a average system at this point) and hold onto Cruz to protect soto and keep him happy.

Lol, you trade Cruz and anyone else that anyone offers for.

Juan Soto has 17 million reasons to be happy

Cruz actually has played himself into being a low value trade asset.

two months of solid numbers will do that. Just about any team without a yordan, jd, Stanton could use him, especially if the Nats eat some of the money he is owed

It was a good signing. If this team wasn’t trash, he’d probably be a useful hitter playing a couple less days a week.

They’ll flip him for a low value prospect at the deadline. Sometimes those guys pops. Not the worst gamble of a contract.

Bell and Cruz seem to be the only players likely to tempt any other team. Maybe Cesar Hernandez for any team that thinks a backup 2B is key to making the playoffs? Maybe YadiStar for a team desperate for a DH?

Welcome the interest of any team that wants a proven game-loser from the Nats' bullpen.

Somebody traded a MLB caliber player for Lester last year. Anything's possible.

Yep. Fedde puts together a couple more good starts, and ge will garner interest.

The big question is what will Rizzo accept to move the player.

Cruz is totally washed.   If we can get any kind of prospect for him, that is a gigantic win

He's no Preston Wilson, that's for damn sure.
