I must say that I would be taking this much harder if I hadn't have spent Sunday, Monday, and most of today with my only sister as she underwent and survived heart surgery. My perspective is good. I love the Nats and the game of baseball. I enjoyed it this season and I'll enjoy it in 2015. The game entertained me this summer.

Until Williams goes, it will be more of the same. Need a REAL manager NOW while we can still win divisions. A guy learning on the job just doesn't cut it. Ridiculous we have to put up with these bone-headed decisions. Like naming a first-year manager to lead your winning baseball team. A JOKE.

Don't get your hopes up. Rizzo and Williams are under the blankets naked in the hotel room right now.

Wow. Any team could get by with one or two struggling hitters, but not this...

I still think the four off days cost us more than anything.  We were scoring tons of runs at the end of the year.

Against marlins mets braves and phillies, the stretch against the NL east at the end if the season made this team seem.better than it was

That's what I mean. Even with the starters having a sub-1.00 era Williams wasn't to blame.  The offense is.

This is worse than 2012 :( we're not the young, inexperienced team, we freaking had this.  And then we went cold :( this sucks bad :(

You're exactly right.  We had a fantastic year and then the bats went ice cold.  Plus today's game included poor fielding and pitching.  Very disappointing ending to what was a sensational season.

anyone frustrated by the fact that it's hard to hate the Giants?  Class organization, class manager, and a ton of talent.  If we're going to lose better to them then to STL.

2012 was worse because of the blown lead in game 5 after the walkoff in game 4, but both suck.

I don't see a ton of talent over there at all. Not even close to the Nats. That's what is so maddening.

I don't hate the Giants, but may the Royals prevail.

True. But it seems like those two teams go deep into the postseason every year.  So sick of it.

2.7 extra base hits per game during the regular season, 1.7 during this series.  And because all came from the sixth, eighth and ninth place hitters, only one plated a base runner.

Only three players had an RBI for the Nats in the series.  Zero from the third, fourth and fifth place hitters.

Span bats .300 for the season with a .355 OBP.  Hits .105 with a .150 OBP for the series.

I think we know where the blame lies.  You don't need eight guys to hit, but you DO NEED more than two guys to hit.  When spots 1,3,4 & 5 are literally COMPLETE non-factors, offensively...you lose.
