I'm exhausting this thread... Ticket prices on stubhub are as follows:

Friday 8/24 7:05 - $2.88
Saturday 8/25 7:05 - $4.90
Sunday 8/26 1:35 - $1.90

It still geeks me out seeing them fall.

the fire sale after their season ticket renewals come in should be fun too

Rwanda in '93 was safer
We went up for a Manchester United game last Summer and were driving to Tony Lukes in a dumpy area near the stadium and a friend of mine from Rwanda said the are "looks like developing nation" like it was part of the 3rd world.  I literally laughed out loud.  It really is a dump. Granted, Nats Park is pretty close to some sketchy areas.

I'm eyeing that Saturday game.  Last time we stayed in that Holiday Inn just past the outfield wall...kind of a dump, but what do you expect in S. Filthy (or shall we call it Rwanda North?)

I want to go everywhere... But I can't. I'm going into my final year at Temple University so Philly is so accessible. I have my own apartment there and this series is leading up to the first days of classes so everything is lining up perfectly.  Just like our season!   :woop:

I've been training hard all summer for this and am in the best shape of my life.  don't figure many of the bigtime bandwagon-type buttholes will show up since their team is in the toilet.  not going to consume any alcohol when i go to ensure my reaction time is 100% in case i need to dodge/throw any punches.  get some

The sellout streak ending and the team going back to an afterthought?  No doubt.  The soulless, sackless, administrivia agents of banality of the DC area traveling like the Phillies phans?  Doubtful.

would be epic in Gilbert Gottfrieds voice

How close does the Amtrack train lines put you to where the Phillies play?

30th Street Station. You need to take the subway or a cab. The station is on the west side of the Schuylkill River closer to downtown. It's about a five-mile walk each way and it's not really a great idea to try to walk it. Via the subway you get on the Market-Frankford Line at 30th Street Station and ride one stop to 15th Street, then change to the Broad Street Line and ride it to the stop formerly called Pattison Avenue and now called AT&T Station. From there it's about a half-mile walk and you just follow the crowd.

I've used the subway to go to a UVA–Temple football game at Lincoln Financial Field and it was fine.

Well I'm on a train now and they're saying I can go from Union Station to Trenton, NJ in two hours. And Philly is the stop before Trenton, so I'm assuming it's less than that. How much time would it take to get from the train station to the game?

I've never ridden it from 30th Street Station so I don't know, but SEPTA's website says about 15 minutes. I'd allow half an hour to account for time spent walking from the Amtrak to the subway, waiting for the train, changing trains, etc.

Hey fellow brave Nationals fans,
My two friends and I are heading up to Philadelphia for games on Friday and Saturday. Is it really that bad up there? We were discussing whether it would be safe to brandish Nats gear while at the park...

Also, I have an extra ticket to Friday's game. It was cheaper to buy 4 together on Stubhub than to look for 3. The seat is in Section 145 (Left field). You get to sit next to 3 Nats fans, who are reasonably in good shape and can fight back. Let me know if you are interested. I'd rather sell it to a Nats fan from here than to eat it or sell it to some jerk who will bother us the whole game.

You'll be fine.  I went with a friend in 2010 and I'm pretty sure we were the only freakin Nats fans in the whole place.. and still only got the minimal random trash talk from passers-by in the concourse.  The ones who are the biggest A-holes won't be there because their team isn't winning.

By all means.. BRANDISH THAT crap

Wear your Nats gear and be proud... If you get heckled play along with it but if it becomes bad simply ignore or get an usher.  The ushers there really try to prevent nonsense like rude hecklers.  I'm going to all 3 games, Saturday night I'm going to be in a group of 30+ Nats fans in sect 306. Friday and Sunday I'll be by the dugouts.

Kill them with kindness. For example, someone could make a sign thanking Philly management for that Ryan Howard contract.

Yeah.  Went up there in '06 and it was generally OK...some heckling, but nothing really of Flyers calibre asshattery.  Now granted that was down in the good seats, they were far out in first place and we were in the gutter...one did hear of crap getting started in the nosebleeds, and I think that fights at weekend Philthy/Mutts games were fairly common at that point.  But, under the circumstances this year, enjoy being part of an invasion!
