I'd like to thank all those who answered the call to serve. Most here volunteered while there are a handful yunz who got a personal invitation from the President to come on down. Regardless you helped keep our country safe and make the world a better place.  Thank you.

Raise your hand if you stood up and saluted.

I spent Saturday morning placing flags with a group of Scouts on Veteran grave sites at a local cemetery.  Never forget.

yeah, we'll be at Quantico National Cemetery for that one, assuming we can find parking.  It has been an absolute zoo in the last few years.

I usually walk to Chestnut Grove in Herndon for laying wreaths and subway to ANC for pickin' 'em up.

that's great.  they are always in need of people to help with picking up wreaths.  Usually it's no problem finding enough volunteers for placement.

It's interesting (particularly at smaller cemeteries) to get the names of a few of the wreath locations.    I've found some interesting stories about the Vets I presented a wreath to.   Googled one guy at Chestnut Grove (Civil War) and found he was a big deal back in the day.      Of course, on the pick up, roamin' ANC is a story all by itself.

My wife's parents are buried at Quantico, so that's why we go there (that and our Scout Troop always goes there).  In Western Prince William, Stonewall Memory Garden in the Manassas Battlefield is looking for volunteers, starting a noon on 12/15
