ENORMOUS CROWD - every announced person was there, trust me
I was wondering about this.  Went to a sports bar after my softball game tonight.  He watched his Twins and I watched the Nats.  Got there right after the 4 run inning.  It was fun.  I was wondering how the crowd was.  It looked great on TV.

Accardo - the guy who walked Burnett on 4 pitches as he was trying to sacrifice, was just DFA'd.  LOL.

Let's face it, everyone one of those fans belonged here, it's not a Phillies invasion. The O's fans are well-behaved because a good half of them live right around here. Let's win the series today, boys!

The crowds have been excellent this week.  Both in numbers and volume.

As some of the nats have said, it can make a difference.

The reason the 2010 edition has dropped so quickly in the ranking is that that 34th win snapped a 5-match losing streak (also lost 11 of their last 13 going in).

Have to agree - supportive but not over-the-top.

Thank you for posting this. It seems that we will not have the best record (not team) if we , at some point, do not get to .500 or above and STAY there. As everyone remembers we finished at 500 and I think lost the last three games of the season. Several weeks earlier we were also at .500 but managed to post a winning record. At this date in 2005 we were in first place and 12 games above .500.

The 2005 season finished quite strangely generally. From Labour Day to season's end we went 10-15 - 3-13 at home but 7-2 away. We were swept in our last two home series (Mets, Phillies - the latter the season finale you mention) and yet swept the Mets and Marlins on the road during that period.

2005 is our "Glory Days" season. Considering we merely were .500 that is pretty damn sad.

...not only that, but we weren't mathematically eliminated from post-season till the next-to-last weekend of the season...nostalgic indeed.
