Debbi, why don't you ask him how he feels about Jacko dying?

With the questions she usually asks, I'm shocked that she didn't!

about the NBA draft...I'd be SHOCKED if DeJuan Blair and/or Sam Young are still available when the Wiz picks @ 32.  I'd take either one!!

2 runs allowed by Clippard is still an upgrade from Colome. At least I was confident he wouldn't blow it.

I think Ernie is going to sell the pick for cash like he did last year. :?

Well, from what I saw of him during the regular season, he'd be a nice fit for the Wiz.  They need some more "bigs" after that trade.

Not a bad idea. None of the guys left are very good. At best they'll be ready in 3 years, at which point we can just trade for them.

Ahh, so glad I decided to pick this game to go to. I couldn't deal with three games in a row this week. How sweet this was. I like the lineup (except Bard continues to be a defensive liability and is unbelievably slow.)

Not a pleasant debut in relief for the Tie Clip. I can deal with a guy being tagged in a 9-1 game because relievers should be agressive. But he was throwing more balls than strikes. Not a good sign. He'll need to show better stuff that this.

Ran into Galah at the game.  Pretty nice view from his red porch seats.  Very good game by Zimmermann, to say the obvious.  Impressive stuff.

From reading various things on the SoSH Series, game, and Natstown threads, those guys are stunned at how Willie has developed since 2006, when he was at Pawtucket.  From his catches the first game, to realizing his OBP is as high as it is when he led off the 2d, to his fly that day.  I'd like to see what was said when he hit his upper decker tonight.

Truth be told, the Nats starters looked better than Penny, Lester, and Smoltz.  The latter was looking like he was still rehabbing, but they are probably Ok with him getting 90+ pitches in and how he pitched after the first. Both teams had one starter blow up in one bad inning.

Willie player of the Series?

"They put four in the first and I was a lot more relaxed," Zimmermann said. "It's a lot easier to pitch when you have a four-run lead instead of a 0-0 ballgame or a 1-0 ballgame."
