If Bautista is hurt, then Zoe Saldana can pitch.

Maybe so we can wish them "happy trails" when they move?

Went to the Orioles/Rockies game yesterday - pretty small crowd for a for a first place team in a Sunday matinee with nice weather .

The poor, poor Angelos family will not more than the $600 million for upgrades to the baseball park.

Quote
The Baltimore Orioles lease at Camden Yards runs out on December 31, and as of now, there is no word on when an extension will be agreed upon.

Our media partners at The Baltimore Banner reports that Maryland Gov. Wes Moore remains confident an extension will be signed before then.

Multiple members within the governor's administration told The Banner that a short-term lease extension will not be required to keep the O's at Camden Yards.

Those officials said the lease agreement would keep the team in Baltimore for "decades to come" and could be a catalyst to revitalize downtown, The Banner reports.

Orioles CEO John Angelos will not get an extra $300 million in state funds on top of the $600 million already guaranteed, nor will he get exclusive rights to develop part of the state-owned property, a source told The Banner.

Both of those ideas are now off the table.

Once the lease is signed, the Orioles will get that $600 million in state bonds for upgrades and renovations.

I can't tell if the Orioles are destined to win the World Series this year, or if they are using up all of their magic in the regular season.  They are winning in amazing ways.  I'm hoping they crash and burn early in the playoffs.

Well I would rather see them make the World Series than the Astros and a couple others.  Might also help to highlight the stupidity of them dragging out the MASN deal settlement.

I want them to get swept in the ALDS and then do nothing to supplement their roster in the offseason

They might play the Rays so that first part of what you said is possible. I think the second part is a given. Most of the young talent will walk in a few years unless they get new ownership or move. I just don’t want the Astros to win again. Rooting for Seattle but they may not make it.

Os are in a position to keep so much of their talent together for the next 4-5 years, starting with Rutschman, Henderson, and Rodriguez, Kremer, and Bradish. First important guy to roll off is Santander, who only has 1 year before FA, then Mullins and Hays who have 2 (Mateo as well).  They literally just have to pay arbitration increases for position players to keep the core of the position players together, and don't even have to pay arbitration increases to their top 3 starters.

Tanking for almost decade while having a revenue hammock as well as being able to continuously leech off of another market through an evident crony deal of dubious legal merit has its advantages

Still had to draft and develop the guys. Might be some lessons to learn there. And front office talent to poach.

Also it was a five year table. They won 89 games in 2016.  So 2017-21. About where the Nats are now in their tanking.
