Rizzo made this bed... now we the fans have to live in it.

Defense, defense, defense. No offense.

Lol @ them hyping up HRod in a post game after a loss.

Bob Wolff, the Nats first TV broadcaster, called his book "It's Not Who Won or Lost the Game -- It's How You Sold the Beer".

SF, no one wants a team full of .220   hitters that occasionally walk. You're not that stupid to think anyone wants that.

Well, maybe not.

Would love to hear rizzo today...

"Well we just ran into a hot pitcher"

No we didn't and we haven't in a while...its the offense you put together (with the lerners cheap budget)...make a freakin move.

This may have been the most pathetic offensive performance in the history of the franchise, including the Montreal years.

Nine walks, three HBP and one run. Sickening.

But I agree.

Anyone find it interesting Ray Knight is out "sick" after laying the smack down the other night?  Is he getting Chad Dukes'd?

As long as they walk who gives a crap right?

We need .300 hitters that can come up with clutch hits. The only one we have is out for months. These All Walk, no hit guys like Werth, LaRoche, Stairs, etc are killing us.

As you saw today, we drew 9 walks yet only scored 1 run. Why? Because we can't hit which is the ultimate skill not walks and OBP bullcrap.

Riggleman should probably just say what everyone is thinking - "this game was bullcrap" - and get up and leave.

...and there I was, happy to find that NYC Time-Warner Cable is showing a slew of MLB games up in the 400 channels...and one is MASN. Painful to watch those "were you there for the Werth Big Hit" advertisements.

In the early '90s, the worthless Muts did an entire ad campaign around Bobby Bonilla and a couple of other guys knocking holes in the scoreboard. "Bang bang bang"...stomach-turning.

I have never had any use for the guy and moreso now that he is on the Nats. And I dont want to hear about his stellar defense. First and foremost, 1B is a position for offense. That is a must. And then any defense a guy provides is a bonus.

This.

Can anyone in this organization hit. I hope Linty and the walk lovers are happy.

We have a team full of walkers and look where that has gotten us. NOWHERE! Hits are what win baseball games, not freaking walks

:lmao:

I'm betting he's just out sick. He wasn't any worse so far this season than he was last year.

He's said some things that make it sound like he has a chronic condition (maybe heart related).
But that's just me reading between the lines.

You should start a thread called "Worst offensive performance in Nationals history".

@SBerthiaumeESPN: #Giants beat Nats 2-1. Giants first team in live ball era to post 9+ walks, 3+ hit batters and allow less than 2 runs in a game.

This game was as pitiful as any game I remember.   It is time to dump the trash and bring up the young'uns.   What the hell are we waiting on?    We can lose like this with anybody.   Might as well give the young people a shot at the majors.   Worry about all the BS (call ups, options, mundane crap) later.   You're losing your fans jerks.

The players we dumped aren't hitting better than the players we brought in, btw.
