Alright, who is interested, and how should this be decided?  I'm going to lock up the game thread section temporarily until we figure this out.

I'll second Ed Stroud.  Someone who has a longer history here than me and who regularly chimes in on the Game threads. 

Besides, I'm going to the game fairly early, I hope, so I don't know if could set up the thread on time and under budget.

I vote for Chief, he's the reason all of us are here anyway! He should have the honor of the big day and our official "turning point" as a franchise:)

I think Chief should do Strasburg's debut unless he wants to give it to one of us starters with high winning percentage

I now agree that The Chief should do it.  He started this site, and Strasburg could still be pitching for Washington 15 years from now.  He may be bringing us to the playoffs.  Looking back at that thread should show a familiar name as to who started it.

If The Chief doesn't want it, you could look at seniority of regular posters, which goes back to 2005.  And you might want it to be someone who started a GameDay Thread before, so it's someone who knows how to do it.  (No barebones for this one):

I've taken some guff here or on the MLB board for taking nats2playoffs for a user name.  If Strasburg is going to take this team to the playoffs while Ted Lerner (now 84) is still alive, I'd sure like to start it, so everyone can look back later and see my name, which is predicting what Strasburg might fulfill.
