.500!!       :woop:  :whip:  :minigunz:

Best start of a season since Davey became manager.

Haven't started .500 or better in the first 28 games since 2017.

Some slacker didn’t post the W. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I hope Senzel isn’t hurt and why isn’t Garcia playing.

An interesting team to watch. I'll take this approach over soul sucking ineptitude like we had not long ago.

52 SB’s, 19 more than any other team.
tied with Cincinnati, but 17 more than #3.

Garcia was not playing against the lefty starters the past 2 days. Senzel took another at bat in the 9th after he was hit in the hand earlier, so unless it swells up or otherwise overnight, he should be good we can hope.

he corrected it around 9 PM last night, the Brewers had two in their game last against Tampa so that may have come after his post.

Regardless, it's still impressive to see how this team is running.

Luis Garcia

Coming out of a lot of adversity from last season, and Davey pushing him during ST, good start for '24.

That’s really a totally meaningless stat.  It’s still at best a mediocre system according to most of the experts.

yes and no. I don't think it's surprising that Harrisburg is strong. There's two huge prospects there, a former top 100 guy who is having a recovery year, Morales is getting recognition in some rankings, and the staff has some promising arms. They should be kicking butt. Wilmington has some nice pieces too (Lara, Lile, others...). Those are the levels you'd think would be doing well.

I would agree with this a few weeks ago, but there are a lot of B and C list prospects who are having noticeably positive starts to the season. It’s not just a bunch of AAAA dudes raking.

Our system is looking really promising right now.

that's the thing. At the upper minors, it's not Paulo Espino and a staff full of former guys trying to hang on. There's Gsellman, and that's about it. Maybe Ward isn't much, maybe Adon is a write off, but they are "our" guys and under 30. The rotation in Rochester has had it a bit rough, but Harrisburg and Wilmington have been fine, and there's talent there. I  would not be surprised if the FVs on a lot of guys move up next time the system is rated. 35s and 35+ for unrated guys like Dunn. Made has helped himself, too. Lara's back on track. Only big disappointment so far is Rutledge.

Take a look at Rutledge's start today. Six scoreless inning, 3 hits, 1 walk and 6 Ks. Maybe he has recovered from being hit in the foot by that line drive.

Of course not...

Let's see where they are after they play some high level competition other than the Dodgers and Phillies...who they are a combined 3-6 against.

The lineups and management have, at times, been a real head-scratcher...they may have been even be better than they've been thus far with a capable bench boss...
