should have traded him during the Spring. he's not hitting because he's not used to being a bench player

I don't know either. I was encouraged when he was getting people out and then he fell apart and pulled a Vindicator with 2 outs in the 5th.

I know what the problem is....it's the bloody curse of the Vindicator. We're screwed.

Living in Seattle, i read a lot about the Mariners.  The difference between what they did and how they did it in the offseason is astonishing.  They traded one their most prized pieces (Putz) and built their system up with quality depth.  Unfortunately, we don't have that piece (maybe Zimmerman) but we don't have a 3rd baseman to fill in.  They had a better base to begin with, especially pitching, but they are really playing well right now.

Did anyone know how Jack Zduriencikwas before he was hired by the Mariners?  Is Rizzo the guy?  If not, find the replacement now and have him/her get moving on fixing this thing.  If so, remove the interim tag and show some sort of stability.

eh, 0-8 and 2 walks in his two starts, not producing when he's in the line-up.  kearns was god awful today all around, just embarrassingly bad.

that botch in the outfield was little league-esque. Dunn and Dukes should be definite starters. Between Mills, Willingham, and Kearns I don't know what we are going to do.

That's it.  Fire him.

I've seen enough.  That he left Rivera in to face Ryan Howard - AFTER RIVERA HIT TWO freakING BATTERS IN A ROW - when Howard has a career OPS against righties over 1000, is a SHAM.

He WANTS to get fired.  I bet he just wants to be a Dominican Winter League manager or some crap.  He can't take the MLB job any more.  Whatever.

Yeah, it's time for him to go. No more excuses. This team needs a complete overhaul.

I want to hear his comments tonight. If it's the same Everything-Is-Frosting-And-Sugar-Cakes bullcrap, then I am changing my vote and will officially be all for his removal.

He seemed to have such promise too, but I will wait to hear what he says.

If he puts this one on himself then he gets brownie points but nothing can change it after such dumbass mistakes so far this season

I would love to hear a fire Manny chant Wednesday. Too bad crowd will be thin with the Caps starting their playoff run. Please God, let the Caps go deep into the playoffs. I can't handle having the Nats, and only the Nats as my sports outlet.

Also, Fire Manny.

I guess washingtons motto is "Theres always next year" and the Caps are the only team to prove that wrong.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Rangers are not a pushover team.

From the NJ:

Quote
Acta defended his decision to let Saul Rivera pitch against the lefty-heavy middle of the Philadelpia order. "You can't bring a lefty in there just to bring a lefty," Acta said. "Saul, other than probably [Joel] Hanrahan, anybody who has more than one year of service, Saul has better numbers against lefties than any of them. He pitches real good against Victorino. Real good against Utley too. It's just part of the game. He hit both of them."

  freak you acta, if you were a good manager youd know that Lefties are better vs Lefties as Righties vs Righties...

I think in this case it woulda made some sense though. Hinckley should've been saved for the lineup coming up. It would've helped him and gave a glimpse if hes really ready..

I dunno, I just thought the righty was a really dumb move.
