Since no cameras there to show it, Williams was calm postgame. Not as agitated as Friday, Saturday. Did say they need to start winning games

Chelsea Janes ‏@chelsea_janes  7m7 minutes ago

Williams: "We start tomorrow...getting back on our home turf, starting to win ball games."
 sickening

I fail to see what is so douchebaggish about rooting for your team and being happy that they swept the division rivals to get into first place (other than sour grapes from you and that's pretty much douchebaggish).

If you can't see the difference between new york fans and fans from other parts of the country then you just don't understand.  Sure there's other cities that have brutal fans too, but new york is the worst overall, even more than philly fans.

IN about 2.5 weeks, this collection of clods will be 5 games back, with MW still delivering the same tiresome post game ..'we gotta do better...' platitudes....last week he was saying that 'our guys need to have better plate discipline...too many called third strikes...' it's only taken him half of the season to notice this?
Most of this third rate line up have no idea what the difference between a ball and a strike is....they watch good stuff, flail at crap, swing and miss at bouncing balls in the dirt or watch called third strikes sail down the middle of the plate....or, our stupendous collection of .214 hitters hack at the first pitch with a runner on first, delivering the expected DP ball....
these guys must practice being this bad at the plate....with Desmond being the worst of the lot

Yeah and have you ever played baseball at a high level?  Probably not.  You don't let the other team and their fans crap on you without sending a message unless you want them to know that you're willing to get your ish pushed in on a nightly basis which they did and is embarrassing.  The lack of fight was pathetic.  Even when they scored  late in the game they didn't have any carryover of momentum in the dugout.   Actually the nats should have given Duda chin music early in the game or at least inside a foot off the plate.  He's red hot and owning the inside of the plate.  You have to back him off a bit instead of being cozy.

Backing someone off the plate I understand but that a far cry from "bean the crybaby".  That sounded as douchey as the fans you were making fun of, sorry.

In hallway postgame, Mr. Met was giving fist pounds to everyone that walked by. Offered one to Mike Rizzo, who did not take him up on it.

To clarify, I don't think Mr. Met knew who Rizzo was. Rizzo,on his way to the clubhouse, chuckled. Funny moment, though.

Except for Harper, and so some extent, Escobar and (surprisingly) Espi, no one else on this team of hackers appears to be learning anything from their woefully inept ABs....led, of course, by the truly awful Ian Desmond....who never chokes up with 2 strikes, who never swings at good pitches, who chases bouncing balls all over the left hand batter's box, Werth(less than last year) who flops over the plate chasing Desmond's favorite low and outside pitches, Ramos, who stands 9 feet away from home plate, the dives futilely flailing at low outside breaking balls and occasionally makes feeble contact (usually just enough to hit into a DP, given his 'speed' - reminding me of a concrete delivery truck with 2 flat tires), Taylor, another 'diver for dogshtye' pitches, Zimmerman, also standing a mere 8 feet away from home plate, watching the good stuff, whiffing at low, outside breaking crap or above the eyes fastballs, Flubaton, who hits like a girl, Tyler Moore, a country boy lacking oomph and no eye for good pitches, Uggla, who is about as big a zero as there is at the plate, pinch whiffing at an astonishing rate, Rendon still struggling somewhat, but generally does not swing at the horrible cheese most of these other clowns chase (he may get back to form ...but it may be too late by then)...I guess Robinson has been decent...but is now collecting splinters as the Zman is allegedly back....and all of these ineptitude is blended with a total lack of competitive spirit, the will to win...there is no strategy, no small ball, no adjustments for pitchers, conditions of the score or runners on base.....hit and run is an impossible play to call because of the lack of consistent contact by most of these overpaid clowns....and our pitchers cannot bunt for $hyte either....missing or popping up....who really believes this eff-ups will be doing anything other than watching the post season games?

Should have started Espi for Desmond last night.  And Robinson for Werth.

The sky is truly falling in.

Werth, Zimmerman, Rendon start hitting like 'normal' and this team will be fine.

They're in first place with a triple-A caliber lineup + Harper for most of the year.

Yeah it sucks... they should be winning more... but the way you guys are griping you'd think there's no hope and this is the worst team in the NL in every possible way.

It's not. They have to put it together. But the bottom hasn't fallen out. They just got some big pieces back, they won't stumble for long.
