I heard someone yesterday compare him to McCutchen. If that's his career comparable then that's pretty good.

He's hitting .400 with 2 home runs in his last 5 games.

I still think the ceiling is every bit as high as when he was selected. I'd be surprised if he wasn't a .280ish hitter with 30 or so homerun power, solid OF defense, quality baserunning and useful leadership at his peak. We drafted him to be a middle of the order hitter with captain qualities and I see no reason to revise that expectation downward simply because he faded down the stretch of a long season last year and took a second to get things going this season.

Not worried about his Spring and early bad start. Recent upturn feels expected.

I'll give a player who was dominant in the SEC a lot more rope than a high schooler or a player who flew up the low majors before struggling at AA.

Baseball America ranked Crews as its Number 8 Hot Prospect just now:

The Skinny: Crews began the season by going 1-for-13 with seven strikeouts. This week was much more as expected. He began the week with a four-hit day that included a home run and finished it with a three-hit day that also included a home run. He only struck out three times in 23 plate appearances. As has long been the case for Crews, he had success to all fields. Crews’ grand slam on Sunday went to left. His first home run of the week was driven out to center and he also had a pair of hits this week to right field.

Zuck says Crews is fine and had a minor issue last week. He was going to play tonight but they held him out as a precaution due to the rain. Should be back tomorrow.
