I wouldn't necessarily assume that Cavalli will have an immediate (positive) impact.  TJ recovery is better than it used to be, but combining that with still learning how to pitch in the majors can cause some initial struggles.
If he replaces Corbin, he'll have a positive impact.

so would Inanimate Carbon Rod, if it moved in a way that could deliver a pitch.

Cavalli turns 26 this year and has never demonstrated solid control.  Also a good chance he learns the Hickey Shuffle once here.

Yep. Just want to get him back and through this year. Kind of like Gore and last year

Pending tonight’s game the Braves, Mets and Phillies are all 8-2 over their last ten.

Phillies just took advantage of 6 in a row at home against the Rockies and White Sox.  They have also played 3 against us so almost half of their 22 games have come against teams predicted to be 3 of the bottom 4 in the majors.  Good teams do that but their schedule has to turn sooner or later.

Well sure.  But it’s good to go 6-0 against the bad teams. Everyone plays the same schedule over the season.

We'd certainly have a better record if we could play ourselves.  Or would we?

Would cause confusion about who is in or out of the sunshine squad. In any event I am readying myself for a playoff push.  Batten down the hatches.  Full speed ahead.

We'd be .500. We'd be undefeated. We wouldn't have a single win.

I know I'll be pulling my hair out most nights, but all the running, scoring on close plays at the plate (or not so close), it's been fun.

Trea Turner out at least 6 weeks with a left hamstring strain. Now's the time for the Nats to make their move!

As much as I love speed, have to wonder if more of these kinds of injuries could be coming across the league as the new rules encourage steals and aggressive base running.

Steven Kwan is out with a hamstring also. Point made.

Not hammies, but if Garcia's hand is bad, that'll be 2 starters the Nats would have lost on slides into 2nd on a steal and a stretch

Just saw the Mets have thrown out 3 of 55 stolen base attempts. Can’t wait to play them.
