He’s leading the team to the bottom.  How could they fire him now.  Mercy firing.

Time to shift to buying mode at the deadline. Supposedly CP3 is available- maybe we could get him

Recap of projections for top five draft picks. Looks like lots of uncertainty. I am sure the Wiz will make the ring wrong pick.

Form what I've read, this seems like a great draft if you need a role player to round out a team. Great year to start a tank

They will be bad for a few years.  So more chances.

They’ve haven’t been good since the 80s- 45 years and counting since they had a 50 win season. More chances have helped yet.

They’ve been bad to mediocre. Now they are tanking bad.  We shall see.

B Cool will be in the rising stars game.  First time in a while for a Wizard I think. Haven’t been following the NBA closely this year but surprised neither of the Thompson twins made it.

9-39. Still three games back of Detroit.  They will be hard to catch. Half a game lead on SA and one and a half on Charlotte. Keep up the bad work.

Gafford dealt to the Mavs for Richaun Holmes and draft compensation.

Quote
Moving [Gafford] gives the Wizards increased salary cap flexibility as they move through the early days of their rebuild. Holmes, a 30-year-old veteran, holds a $12.8 million player option for next season.

Gafford had one skill. Shot blocking.  So Tommy sighted him to a long term deal.  Doh.

No one wants him?
I would have been surprised if he was traded.  They want multiple firsts for him.  There’s also a salary floor so you have to have some guys who can Chuck up a lot of shots for $25 million a year.

Isn't $25 million kind of the going rate for an NBA starter who is not on a rookie contract? Could have gotten an expiring contract back.

They want draft picks.  They have no need for expiring contracts.  No one wants to sign here so no salary room needed.

Holmes is their expiring contact now. After next year.
