How about Ruth with the Red Sox in 1918 and 1919? He also started a game for the Yankees in 1920 and 1921.

To clarify, only Matthewson, Ohtani, and Panda had a scoreless pitching outing, HR and SB in the same game. Ohtani threw four scoreless.

Panda stole a base??
Pandas are like ninjas. They are stealthy because they wear a mask.

Reminds me of the time when an old Bengie Molina hit for the cycle at Fenway.

Angels have lost 7 in a row. Really should have traded Ohtani

Philadelphia.
could you imagine having to figure who plays left and right field among Ohtani, Harper, Castellanos, and Schwarber? Brandon Marsh is going to have to shave and cut his hair to streamline himself so he can run down balls in both gaps.

It will be interesting to see what kind of contract he gets as a top hitter and a top pitcher.

Guy could go on the IL for the rest of the year and still win the AL MVP.

i'm fascinated by how his free agency will play out (assuming the Angels don't resign him).  Ohtani as a hitter only is probably a $30 million player. Ohtani as a pitcher is a $30-40 million player.

So what do you give him?

I want to see Cohen say freak it and make him the first billion dollar player. If $70 over 13 is fair, just round up a bit

I think he's the best player all-time (he just hustled a double against the Reds as I write this) but I would think the danger of giving him a 10 to 13 year contract based on his hitting AND pitching is how many years can he continue to do BOTH at such a high level.

Gonna be the most expensive injury in sports history.

If I’m the Angels, I extend him for 2-3 years.

What a bummer. The Angels season is over. He should have the TJ surgery now and sit out the rest of the season.

Just terrible for him and baseball. But must be several teams breathing a sigh of relief that it happened before they bid crazy money on him.

Wonder what the Angels will offer including for next year when he basically will not play.  And pitching at all uncertain.
