Errbody wants Luton Town and Burnley to stay up.  Well, I do anyways.

JJ Watt is part owner of Burnley. Everton "playing for spite", agrees "Men in Blazers", and John Oliver says "Spite is rocket fuel". https://www.peacocktv.com/watch/playback/vod/GMO_00000000479888_01/24dddc3b-1511-36b1-86e8-76e925c55b14

It will be exciting at the top and bottom of the PL, as Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City battle to win it all, as Spurs and Villa battle for fourth place and a guaranteed sot in the Champions League. As Manchester United, West Ham, and Newcastle fight for spots in the UEFA Extras Conference. Also, at the bottom, as Everton, Nottingham Forest, Luton, JJ Watt's Burnley, and Sheffield United fight to avoid relegation.

And as Chelsea, Brighton, Bournemouth, and Fulham try to understand who they are and where they are going. Roberto De Zerbi demands a meeting with Brighton's ownership that will decide if he looks for another job. Chelsea fans want to ditch manager Mauricio Pochettino, who says his  roster is off-balance. Meanwhile, the owner, Tod Boehly has appointed "co-directors of football". Yes, two of them as the soccer equivalant of general manager, something I've never seen in almost seventy years of professional sports. Boehly, by the way, is part owner of the Dodgers, which does NOT have Andrew Friedman and somebody else as co-presidents of baseball operations.

Several teams have banged against Profitability and Sustainability rules, which could force them to sell good players on the cheap, just as soon as the season ends.

Oh, and Dan Snyder has moved to London with $6.1 billion profits to sustain him. Could Little Danny buy a club with some of that?

And here is Deloitte's Football Money League: https://www2.deloitte.com/uk/en/pages/sports-business-group/articles/deloitte-football-money-league.html

Real Madrid on top, by a little, but Manchester City (2), Manchester United (5), Liverpool (7), Spurs (8), Chelsea (9), and Arsenal (1) all in the top ten.

Nothing settled yet, but yesterday's results look like a pivotal day in the EPL...

Chelsea's Nicholas Jackson and Noni Madueke fight each other to take a penalty kick. The manager had designated Cole Palmer as penalty taker. Palmer is a serious player and in the race for the Golden Boot as top scorer.

It appears that they had yet to hit rock bottom.  Arsenal 5, Chelski 0 at 77 minutes.

That was the team that couldn’t find a spot for Pulisic. Screw them.

I went to a Tampa Bay Rowdies vs New Mexico United game on Saturday.  Nice stadium (formerly housed besbol, so no seats on one end).  The quality of attacking play was not really all that different from MLS, but defending was pretty inept...regardless, being on the water for a couple of hours is very pleasant.
