The last time the Browns played the Nationals. September 9, 1953. Washington won it, 2-1, in 12 innings. Bullet Bob Turley, future Yankee ace, took the loss. Connie Marrero, who taught generations of Cuban pitchers the magic curve-ball, started and went 10 innings. Livan Hernandez probably was the last guy to learn from Marrero.
