He’ll probably do a rehab game or maybe even just a sim game in the next week and make the start after next. He hasn’t missed much time, so shouldn’t need a lot of ramping up. These kinds of treatments are an almost instant improvement. You have pain, you get a shot, the inflammation calms down, and your pain goes away. It’s actually a pretty amazing feeling.
It just never seems to be as simple as that with this team.
So ... is Doolittle ever coming back?
Things are coming together. Murphy is back to his old self. Eaton as well. Harper is hot again. Roark has gotten back to his old self. Just need Stras then Doo back.
It's going to be exciting until we are mathematically eliminated somewhere about 9/15. Sigh.
Zuck reports Doolittle threw on flat ground with a protective boot on his foot and reported no issues.
Threw without a boot.
Jorge Castillo@jorgecastilloStrasburg said he threw 42 pitches in his bullpen session yesterday and felt good today. He'll "probably" throw another one tomorrow. Martinez said they'll determine when he'll go out on a rehab assignment after the next bullpen.
There's no reason for him not to go on a couple rehab stints at this point
stints or starts?
Tomato, tomato?
two more stints of rehab means he has to get activated and put back on the DL or means he has to start a rehab, get shutdown for a week or so, and begin rehab again. There isn't enough time for that in August. Two starts means he could be back taking a turn in the MLB rotation in 10-14 days.
