If he plays one type of pitch particularly well or poorly - Sinker Winker.

If he puts all of his mental effort into the game - Thinker Winker.

If he loses sight of the ball in bright light - Blinker Winker

If he plays poorly for our 2024 Nationals - Stinker Winker.

If he becomes rather mischievous - Tinker Winker.

If he starts informal target shooting - Plinker Winker.

(just think of it as an endurance test... ;) )
I see Tinker Winker and I think of teletubbies.

If he loses sight of a ball in the light but still gracefully moves towards it: Blinker “Fluid” Winker.

for the record, after leading with Winker's 4 for 4 and HR in the 9th, Golden's recap of the end, the futility, and Irvin:

Quote
In the top of the tenth, shortstop CJ Abrams hit a groundball to first base. Trey Lipscomb, who was standing on second base as the automatic runner, hesitated before taking off. First baseman Tyler Nevin fielded the ball, tagged first and then threw across the diamond to nail Lipscomb at third. In the bottom of the inning, Oakland’s Lawrence Butler delivered an RBI single to drive home pinch runner Maxwell Schuemann with the game-winning run. The Nationals finished 0 for 10 with runners in scoring position.

Washington spoiled a stellar outing from right-hander Jake Irvin, who allowed just three base runners and one hit — a third-inning solo blast by Butler — in six innings.

Of course, that begs the question, which of our 2024 Nationals would be Dipsy, Laa - Laa and Po?... :D

Those with long memories may remember 'Tubby Die-Die' as an early viral site on the nascent WWW - contributors would set out how they would like to kill a Tellytubby ('Time for Tubby Die-Die...')... ;)
