A source told MLB.com that the Angels, Mets, Rangers and Tigers are showing interest in free agent Chad Cordero.

All four teams have asked to look at his medical records. MLB.com reports that Cordero's first choice would be to sign with the Angels because he is from Anaheim and grew up an Angels fan.

I think we say good bye and good luck. It's not like he was anyone's boyfriend on the forum (i.e. dating any of the forists). Let's bring up lots of young guys to big boy camp at ST, there has to be a live arm that can throw 90+. That's better than an injured Cordero, I'm sad to say.

I hope Cordero goes to the AL and the West Coast. That way we don't have to face him with an regularity. Chad is a great guy and I hope he does well...away from the NL

From Nats Journal:

Former Nat to Coach Mexico

Remember Vinny Castilla? The former Nat -- from the fabled 2005 season -- will coach Mexico at the World Baseball Classic in March.

Sadly, several commentators and talking heads outside the organization have said so at various points since we came to DC.  I hear we have a bright young catcher named Jesse, too :?

Well, most Cubs fans my age look back on 1969 as the most "fabled" season they have ever experienced.

When your "fables" are nothing, you assign a value to nothing.

I think he feels it's pathetic that we let him go. I wouldn't have given him a Major League contract.

no no, he doesn't like Schroder.

he feels it's pathetic that anyone signed him for anything.

cause you know, he doesn't throw an unhittable strike on every pitch. which makes him a worthless bum, according to Sportsfan's Law of Player Quality.

it's pathetic because he is not a major league pitcher.

The awful A's will find out soon enough.

When he was actually good. This year I finally realized that he was not worth a damn as did the Nats who kept him in AAA much of the year.

until he threw a pitch that someone actually hit.  then Sportsfan's Law of Player Quality kicked in, and Schroder became "not a major league pitcher".

The Nats screwed him Schroder last season. Bring him up,then not pitch him, just plain stupid. He's a lot better than Brian Sanches,Jesus Colome,Luis Ayala,Levale Speigner etc...

In 07 I thought Schroder was a lock to be a contributor in 08, but he declined.  I think the A's have made a mistake, but we will see.

if there was a post of the day feature on here, i would nominate this.

HAHA SPEIGNER what a waste.  some on here thought he would bounce back because of his AAA season.

Someone may start an email campaign threatening to cancel season tickets if they don't sign Church. Something like that was done here last season.   ;)  But we already have enough 4th outfielders.   :icon_mrgreen:  However, Church isn't a FA until 2012. He's arbitration eligible though.
