I can see how playing ability helped him get through high school and college but elementary school and middle school?

It's a good thing all parents and teachers aren't lazy or we'd all have "learning disabilities".

I know guys who got "gifts", etc. in 5th grade for their skills in basketball. I imagine it's even worse today.

I have a feeling that that whole NFL subculture is just different from the rest of us, witness the Miami Dolphins. They throw around "nigger" like it's an everyday word, and I suspect gay slurs as well. It's just that most, nearly all, know how to turn it off when they leave the locker room, but a few don't. I love Dexter, but he does have some serious defects. I seriously doubt he know how offensive some of the things he says are. That's a lot of why I like him so much, though I'm not happy about him throwing gay slurs around.

Woods is doing a strange retelling of the Natinals story, getting a lot of facts wrong. He has a conspiracy theory of why it was Zimmm and Dunn, the two big stars with the misspelled uniforms. (He brought this up in relation to the ballpark roof story although the connection was not clear.) Woods thinks that the misspelling was intentional by the team in order to auction off the jerseys for charity.
