Good vibes thread

Let's talk about things that don't suck. My kid can say two words now: "mama" and "up!"

One my 5yo boys brought me home a picture today from kindergarten. After guessing incorrectly on rocket and jet airplane, I was informed that it was a "shrink ray."

That's super awesome, but it begs the question: how many 5 year olds DO you have? :)

Yeah, but he just says up all the time right now. It may become tiresome, but not for a while.

I've managed to lose 10lbs in the past week despite being on the road and not eating too well.  Only 190 to go!

I'd be -35 if I lost 190.

Are you 6'3" with the build of William "The Refrigerator" Perry though?  At my thinnest I weighed 195lbs and I looked horrible, like starving victim horrible.  I'm just a big guy that's never going to be "skinny", sadly.  I'm shooting for around 210lbs which would be a total weight loss of almost 260lbs.  The first 70 was pretty easy, let's hope the rest goes as quick.

I suppose after the flu issues last year you aren't too anxious to get surgery, but the stomach restriction thing has worked some wonders for folks I know.  There's risk (Charlie Weis had some tought times when he was with the Pats after his surgery), but when it works, it works wonders.

Not to mention steak and cheese w/fries, and all the alcoholic food groups excepting the scotches.

I would do it in a heartbeat if I could but my current health insurance doesn't offer bariatric surgery.  I'm considering a job change so that might be something I do if I don't take off more weight on my own.  The biking 5-10 miles a day and drinking 2-3L of water is making it easier but it's still a struggle.

Are there any healthy food options at the park?  I usually stop by Subway before hand but found myself at the "Taste of the Majors" towards the end of the season last year...

It's a lot safer if you can do it yourself.

The Nats official site has a full list of food options, but it is out of date and from the last food service provider. I think a chicken shawarma from Max's is pretty healthy.

I would recommend seeing a nutritionist. They are really good at building diets around what foods to enjoy so you don't end up eating a diet of sawdust & warm water.

I started losing weight last February. Since then, I've gone from 231 lbs to a little below 170 lbs.
