My oldest doggie, Bryant. He’s very excited for the National Championshio Game and says “Roll Tide” :mg:

I had to board my poor doggie because she hates the fireworks. She’s be afraid to go outside for days if she had stayed here tonight. She is a country dog that hates living in the city.

Bryant had to take a doggie downer to get through the fireworks tonight

There's almost always a good SNL skit for everything.

Have that in mind every time he has to take one  (4th of July and New Years are not his fave days)

Years ago we had a little dachshund-beagle named Gypsy who was a bit on the plump side. Every time there was thunder or fireworks, she’d somehow manage to wedge that fat little body between the back of the toilet and the wall. You’d walk in the bathroom and there she was, peeping from the back of the toilet, wide-eyed and shaking. Gypsy was fearless about everything else, but thunder and fireworks unhinged her. She lived to be 20 but it still wasn’t long enough.  :'(

For us it was a bottle of Veuve Clicquot my brother-in-law and his wife gave us last week as a Christmas present.

A lot of baseball anniversaries coming in 2019:

150th - First professional baseball game (Cincinnati Red Legs vs New York Nine)
100th - The 'Black Sox' World Series
75th - St Louis Browns' only AL pennant (creating the only all-St-Louis World Series)
50th - First seasons for Expos (now Nats), Padres, Pilots (now Brewers) and Royals
25th - The Championship That Never Was: Expos have best record in majors but strike wipes this out
10th - A Nationals season to truly forget

And a couple of personal anniversaries: this coming August it will be 50 years since my first plane trip (Sab Francisco to Honolulu on the late lamented Pan Am) - which I plan to celebrate with much travel abroad all year long - and next month I raise multiple Heinekens to toast 40 years of freedom from driving.

… and next month I raise multiple Heinekens to toast 40 years of freedom from driving.

All a matter of personal preference, but to me that wouldn’t be something to celebrate because I like to drive (just drove 2533 miles during the last two weeks of 2018 for our Christmas trip to southern Florida).
