My plan from this point on is to act like Strasburg is not on the team and has no future with the team...go out and get a big time 1# pitcher(easier said then done) and continue to hope that Zimmermann Detwiler and or Lannan develop and Maya turns out to be a solid pitcher.

There is no sugar coating this. This is bad in every way possible. I know most recover from the surgery, he's still going to take several years to get back his filthy stuff.

This would have him on schedule to return by opening day 2012. This is why you don't get your hopes up on one player to be the savior of your franchise (people have done that two years in a row with this team). This is why it sucks to lose all those freaking games hoping it pays off in the future. This is a huge blow to the franchise.

At the risk of being called a spelling Nazi, I have one firm rule - player's names, or any names for that matter, must be spelled correctly in thread titles. It's disrespectful to post otherwise, and it's not too hard to find the correct spelling.

The Washington Nationals announced that Stephen Strasburg has a significant UCL tear and will likely require Tommy John surgery.

The MRI results came in late last night but Strasburg requested that they wait to announce it until today, so that he would not take attention away from Bryce Harper's introduction.

Strasburg is such a class act. I hope he will still sign baseballs that are sent to him though, I waited too long

I think it would show we are still rooting for him.

but honestly not even concerned. disappointed i can't see him pitch until next august september, but we all saw zimmermann blow through the rehab and come back.
