Here is an early mock draft.  Lots of movement among the top guys and different sites have different orders.

2-11.  There will be much competition but I think we can reach the bottom.  On a 13 win pace.  Keep up the bad work guys.

Poole is really useless.

Too bad we don’t have a Draymond to punch him

Need to keep Poole in the lineup for a couple years. Tell Ted to queue up a bobblehead.

The sad thing is only one of these teams is actively tanking

Detroit 2-18
Wizards and Spurs 3-16.

A top three pick would be great even if it’s not considered a strong yeat.  Make the right trades and we could be even worse next year.

I have faith in the wizards as an institution to blow the pick.  It may not be Kwame bad, but it will be at least wall bad

I don’t think you can say that Wall was a bad pick.  Not Beal. That combo just hit them to the second round a few times. Problem was they were both guards. And injuries with Wall.  The Otto pick was a killer. But that was a bad draft. Another killer was Vesely and when they traded the high pick one year for Miller and Foye.

I do, we got the pick in a draft with no difference makers and started rebuilding with a star who would never be good enough to win.

Well the Sixers got plenty of busts before they hit on Embiid.  It’s hard to know. He was the consensus number one and they didn’t even have the worst record that year.    Problem was the never found a good wing.

The problem was curry changed the game and wall never learned to shoot

After watching Haliburton shine in the in season, is anyone else super happy the Wizards took Deni? The pacers are going to regret the ware and tear of those extra two games and the wizards are nice and rested now

Don’t forget they traded Sabonis for him and Sacramento has done well.  Meanwhile the Magic are 15-7 about three years into their rebuild.  Have a couple of keepers in Banchero and Wagner.  Who also play some defense. Yeah I’m looking at you Detroit.

I’m coming around to the notion that tanking doesn’t work in any sport. So many of the best players in any league are the second, third or fourth players taken at their positions and so many terrible teams are always drafting near the top. I think the only real exception is a generational NBA player, but those are rarer than people admit, and even then guys like Curry and KD slip.

Wizards could be the Hawks and trade a totally overrated player in Young for the best player in the league in Luka.   That will go down as one of the five worst trades ever.   Interestingly enough, the worst trade ever was Robert Tractor Traylor for Dirk Nowitzki

Ironically, neither Luka nor Young are players you can build a winning team around

Bottom three teams starting to separate themselves.  Wiz keeping up.  Or is it down.

Missing 6 rotation players Luka beat the Lakers on a back to back.  He is going to win multiple titles.  It is almost as if nobody remembers the age Jordan, and especially Lebron, won their titles.  Both needed multiple other superstars and HOF coaches

Good for Luka. Thankfully, you need ball movement in the playoffs. 3 guys sitting around watching Luka and Kyrie take turns isn’t going to work

6-26.  15 win pace for the season.  But still three games behind Detroit and one behind San Antonio.  Keep up the losing.

I thought it was part of the CBA that the zards had to go 33-49 into perpetuity.
