The new Oilers coach is Kris Knoblauch, i'm guessing he can't throw to first but maybe that won't matter in hockey?  They also hired Paul Coffey as assistant coach so probably a continued focus on defensemen who can play offense.
Ok my bad.  I thought I read somewhere they hired Sutter.

Sutter will be hired back by the Flames once the Sharks have fired him.  'Those who neglect...' etc

I believe that Knoblauch was with McJesus in juniors, helped coach him to his first miracles.

Caps goalie playing his butt off tonight. I’m at the game and there’s a place called Swizzlers selling chicken sandwiches and burgers for $25. Crazy.

$25 for chicken AND a burger sounds ok.  Or did you mean either?

Either for $24.95. It does include fries. Other than drinks I didn’t see anyone buying their food.

Lindgren is 30 years old and has only played about 60 NHL games with a .907 career save percentage.  Last year in 31 games a .899 save percentage.  So if you want to believe he can turn into a top flight NHL goalie now good for you.

Not sure about how good a prospect the other guy is.  But he is not going to save 36 of 37. 37 shots in most games.

No one is going to trade for Keumper at $5 million a year for another three seasons after this one. Unless they would eat most of the salary. He is the Caps main goalie the next few years.

Nice call

I’m sure Charlie will keep it up right through to the Cup.  Bet the house.

At those prices I think you're spelling it wrong. Should be s-w-i-n-d-l-e-r.

Charlie regressing in goal. Who could have guessed that. Hard to win also if you don’t score. Getting worried about Ovi.  Need more goals.

Charlie stands on his head agains last night. 38 saves.  Expected goals were 3.9 and he gave up only one.  Enjoy while it lasts.

I went to the game. His shootout attempt was pathetic.

I did not see the game.  Sounds like a good game despite the loss. And a Betman point.

It was a good crowd.  I had sold my tickets, but wound up going anyways after picking up some last-minute seats behind the glass...you don't appreciate just how massive Mantha, Edmundson, Carlson & Protus are until you see them up close.  How did Tie Domi and Theo Fleury survive in the NHL??

Game was fun. Caps dominated early. Stars late. Arena was about 2/3rd full. We sat in the 400s which I love for hockey.

100%.  As much fun as it was having large men smashed into the glass a few feet away, I had zero clue what was going on for much of the game.

It is starting to seem like Ovi is becoming a liability. Other than a few slapshots on the PP (none of which went in) I didn't see him do much last night. He looks old and slow. It was fun to see his 1,500th point and the celebration. Strome scored his 100th goal too.
