He's giving him directions to the Five Guys near the park.

From the Ladson article as quoted by ShoeshineBoy

Quote
"The first month and a half of the season we felt we were winning once a week, maybe. Since we started that series [winning two out of three against the Yankees], we were right in there. I feel we are going to play a lot better."

If my count is correct, and excluding the game lost to the Yankee, we've gone 9-15 since that time.  That .375 WPCT would still be the worst in MLB.  "right in there"?  D*mn, how low did he set the bar?

There are a lot of nice people that have no business managing anything - Manny is one of them.

I'm aware - but your zaniness index has increased exponentially. Especially your "worship" of eagleskinEZ.

Manny was the ultimate "Push Button" manager. Every move he made you could tell in advance and as a result he was consistently being out managed even by hacks like Charlie Manuel.

Prediction: It will make not one bit of difference. The players we have are just not that good, or don't play that well together.

I think it is safe to say it isn't a prediction, but a sad reality.

Very, very late to the news. Good luck to Manny in the future, but it's a change that's long overdue. No more built-in excuses. Here's to a better second half!

I wonder what team will hire him? Obviously he won't be a manager again but I'm sure someone will hire him as a bench coach. I mean, Alan Trammell got hired by the Cubs as a coach and he had a HORRIBLE season in Detroit.

Phil has spoken - managers have no affect on wins and losses and the Nats should've kept Manny because this season was out of his hands.

If Major League managers have no impact on wins and losses then why does it matter who we hire (or fire) as the coach?

Manny's not family, he's not my friend, he's just a dude. It's like these guys who get upset that Jim Fassel isn't a head coach. There's people starving. Manny's job performance sucked noodles and he got fired. His charity work was NOT what he was hired to do. Enough already. If people want to be single person fans and root for whatever team Manny Tolmans for, that's great for them.
