I'm a Bryce Harper fanboi hater.

I'm a hater of Harper fanboi haters.

The people that hate him are the same people who hated Pete Rose for his hustle. They think it's an act and it shows up the guys who don't go 110% on every play. I can see a lot of players hating him.

When he was in the minors, he was what?  17? 18?.  The minors teach you things other than throwing, catching and hitting.  Didnt any of you watch Bull Durham?

He's been poised and professional since coming up.  He also has youthful enthusiasm which is contagious!

Bryce Harper has  lot of objectively annoying habits, and has said dumb things in the past. But he gets lots of hits for a team I like, so I look the other way.

What are some of his objectively annoying habits?

This guy also can't add.  Harper will be 21 on October 16, 2013, not 2014 like it says in his article.

I don't think he would get hated by good baseball people for genuinely trying hard. It's fake trying hard or doing it just for show that would annoy. Sort of like Cole Hamels being "fake tough."

Nobody likes a phony. And Harper is not even close to being one, IMO.

The kid's arrogant as hell on the field, and he has good reason to be. He's talented as hell, and puts 100% into the game, every play.

My Sox-fan co-worker was slurping him all day today.

I wonder if they'd let him into the derby

I wonder if the Nats would let him do it if he was asked.

Rosenthal making the case for Harper (and Trout) in the ASG.

Rosenthal was on The Sports Fix this afternoon.

He doesn't think Harper will get on the A/S team.

Position subs are voted in by players.

Cole Hamels will vote for him.

I disagree. I don't believe people hate him for his hustle. They hate him because they are weak individuals who can't stand that a player is owning their teams. There are fans of every team who hate players because they are good at what they do and happen to play for a team other than their own.

I have no problem with Utley or any other great player. I may not like it when he does damage to my squad but why would I hate him for being a great player? That's freaking weak. I would love to have a healthy Utley on my team.

I disliked Barry Bonds, and several others, who would hit a ball and stand to admire it. (Harper runs). I disliked Deon Sanders when he wore a Yankee uniform, and I was happy when Original Pudge told Neon Deon to run out ground balls. On the other hand, I always clap when a really good player, from the other team, is introduced. I pay money for a ticket, and I appreciated the chance to see Ted Williams rather than Vern Stephens.

I personally don't care if they admire their home run work or if they don't run out routine grounders at warp speed. I'm definitely not going to hate a player for either of those two things.

I don't care if players pimp homers as long as they accept the fact that they'll get beaned their next at bat. Anyway Harper hasn't done anything in the majors to deserve hate, in the minors he was a slapdick but he's moved on from that.

The kid got a lot of media compliments from his play this weekend.  Well deserved.

With all that eye black they could put him in pinstripes and he'd fit right in with the Baseball Furies.
